I never thought of that.  Where did you get that statistic from?  I would really like to see it.&lt;br /&gt;I think we can drill-down the statistic even further.  People leave California (any liberal states) because the high taxes on business (AKA "The Rich") so the businesses leave and take their JOBS with them.  People leave the state when they cannot find a job.  They take their liberal ideology with them.  Much like a cancer.  In my opinion, safety is either a local issue, or a non-issue per se.  The variability in safety is the ability of the person to increase their safety by moving to a different community that is a "safer" community in which they can afford to live in, and is still a reasonable distance from....wait for it...where they WORK.&lt;br /&gt;Again, thanks for the blog!  It never occurred to me, yet it makes so much sense.
