Meeting Aborigine Youth, Down by the Riverside

Aborigine Boys Checking out my Camera

While attending an Aborigine songfest,(ceremonies depicting the ancient culture of the aborigines,) near Laura in the northern part of Queensland, Australia. I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon by the Laura River watching a group of young children playing in the water. Most were kicking a soccer ball around so I started taking photos. After a while curiosity got the best of them and a group of boys came over to investigate. My photo equipment fascinated them, so I showed them how to focus and take photos. The boys were quite polite and well behaved, even though their parents were no where to be found. After the photo lessons , play resumed and I wound up shooting over 3 rolls of film before play was halted, just in time for dinner.
